Back home from Duke after a whirlwind 2 days. We went for a second opinion and quickly decided to go with Dr. Friedman’s approach. I love how straight-forward he is – I felt very confident with him, personally, not to mention his base of knowledge and access to the best science/clinical trials, cutting-edge research.

It’s great to be home for a week or so until we head back to see Dr. Friedman, hopefully next week (when the pathology should be back) to learn prognosis and plan for moving forward.

The great thing about having an awake outpatient brain surgery is that recovery is virtually non-existent. I have a slight headache (managed with Tylenol) and a stiff neck from a few hours in this:

And they are weening me off of the steroid – I’m so excited to be less medicated and feel more like myself!

I’m allowed to go for walks, I can wash my hair today, get on a peloton ride tomorrow – a little bit of normalcy before whatever is next.
